Most people view interior design as an exercise in aesthetics, but we see it as essential infrastructure for the person who fights hard for their life. You spend your day negotiating, leading, raising little humans, and showing up in ways that cost you something. You deserve a home that gives something back.
We design for your recovery, not your guests. Your home should be the one place where the weight of the day actually lifts. Where you can breathe without an agenda. We build that intentionally, around the specific way you live, what restores you, and what doesn't.
Not what's trending. Not what looks good in a catalog. What's right for you.
That takes a different kind of process. We go deep before we go anywhere near a fabric swatch. We learn how you move through your home, where things feel off, and what you've been quietly wishing were different for years. Then we build a design around that, and we handle every decision, every vendor, and every logistical detail so you never have to. The experience of getting there should feel as good as the result.
Shaye Marie Designs is a full-service interior design studio based in Lake Oswego, Oregon. We serve clients throughout the Pacific Northwest, including the greater Portland metro, and the greater Seattle area, and the surrounding communities of the Puget Sound region. We take on a limited number of projects each year so every client receives our full attention from the first conversation through the final installation.
Your home should do more than look beautiful. It should work for the life you actually live and restore the person living it.
We design residential spaces for clients who have reached a point where their home needs to match the life they have built. Full renovations, new construction finish selections, complete furnishings and styling, and everything in between. We come in at whatever stage makes sense, whether that is a ground up transformation or a finished space that simply needs the right eye and the right decisions brought into it.
What most people underestimate is how much the spaces they live in affect how they actually feel day to day. How a home flows determines whether coming home feels like relief or just a continuation of the chaos. How it is lit, how it is proportioned, how the private spaces relate to the communal ones. These are not purely aesthetic decisions. They are deeply personal ones, and they have a real effect on how you sleep, how you connect with the people you love, and how you show up the next morning.
We design around all of it. How you live, how you move through your space, what has never worked, and what you have always wanted but never quite been able to articulate. Then we oversee every detail from the first conversation through the final installation so the experience of getting there feels as considered as the result.
The result is a home that feels completely and specifically yours.
Most people don't realize how much is actually involved in a design project until they are in the middle of one. The vendor coordination, the contractor meetings, the lead times, the back orders, the site visits, the decisions that multiply faster than anyone warned them they would. For someone running a business, leading a team, or simply living a full and demanding life, that level of detail is not where your attention belongs.
Full service design means we take all of it. Every phone call, every sample, every measurement, every follow up, every problem that surfaces on a Tuesday afternoon when you are supposed to be somewhere else entirely. We step in as your creative director, your project manager, and your advocate, and we do not step back until the last piece is in place and the space is exactly what it was always meant to be.
We begin by getting to know how you actually live. Not just how you want the space to look, but how you want to feel when you walk through the door at the end of the day. That understanding drives every decision we make on your behalf. Every finish, every fixture, every furnishing is selected with intention and placed with purpose, because the difference between a space that looks designed and one that truly feels right is almost always in the details most people never think to consider.
We create and oversee the full scope. Concept development, space planning, material and finish selections, furniture and fixture sourcing, contractor coordination, procurement, delivery, installation, and final styling. Nothing falls through the cracks because we do not allow it to.
What you get at the end is a home that does not just look exceptional. It feels like it was built specifically for you, because it was, and you did not have to sacrifice a single moment of your time to get there.
Your office communicates something the moment someone walks in. Before the handshake, before the pitch, before a single word is spoken. The question is whether it's saying what you actually want it to.
We design corporate environments for businesses that understand the space they work in shapes the work they do. Leadership suites, full floor buildouts, conference and client-facing spaces, and everything in between. We come in at whatever stage makes sense, whether that is ground up new construction or a finished shell that simply needs the right vision brought into it.
What most companies underestimate is the effect the physical environment has on the people inside it every single day. How a space flows determines whether collaboration happens naturally or has to be forced. How it feels determines whether people arrive energized or spend the day quietly drained by surroundings that were never designed with them in mind. Lighting, acoustics, spatial proportion, the relationship between communal and private space. These are not aesthetic decisions. They are operational ones.
We design around all of it. Your culture, your workflow, the impression you need to make on clients, and the environment your team deserves to perform in. Then we create and oversee every detail so you stay focused on running the business while we handle everything else.
The result is an environment that reflects where your company is and sets the stage for where it is going.
If you have made it this far, you already know something needs to change. Maybe you have been sitting with it for a while. Maybe the space has never quite worked and you have just gotten used to it. Maybe you are starting from the ground up and want to get it right from the very beginning. Either way, you are here, and that is usually how it starts.
We would love to hear about it. Book a complimentary discovery call and let's have a real conversation about your space, what you are envisioning, and what working together could actually look like. No pressure, no pitch. Just two people talking about what your home could be.
"I hired Shaye to design the lobby and offices in my car dealership back in 2005. She was such a pleasure to work with and the final project was so well done, that I have hired her to design three of my homes since. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. She completed each project ahead of schedule and under budget, all while keeping me in the loop every step of the way."
"Shaye Marie is delightfully easy and fun to collaborate with. I started my projects with no clear direction, but before I knew it, she was able to help me come up with great design ideas I loved. Shaye Marie has a clear talent and passion for what she does. A high recommendation from this very happy client."
"We met with Shaye about our master bathroom remodel and liked her from the start. She is very knowledgeable and confident and has a take charge attitude. We were working within a budget and she knew how to make this work. The results are beautiful. She helped through the whole process of design and fixture and material decisions. We highly recommend her expertise and would hire her again."
