Lakeside Sanctuary

When your view is a lake, the home's job is to get out of the way.

This was a complete renovation of a compact lakeside residence, and the entire design philosophy lived in that idea. My client had a strong aesthetic sensibility and a clear vision  dark, modern, and deeply personal. They weren't interested in a home that competed with what was outside the windows. They wanted one that framed it.

We built around charred woods, matte blacks, and warm organic textures that allow the space to recede and let the water take center stage. On a smaller footprint, every decision had to earn its place  so we focused on architectural continuity, intentional flow, and a moody atmosphere that feels both intimate and expansive at the same time.

The result is a sanctuary that holds you without closing you in. Grounded, atmospheric, and entirely built around the person who lives there.
