Government Camp Retreat

A mountain home should feel like the mountain. Not a catalog version of rustic, not shiplap and Edison bulbs because someone saw it on a renovation show. Something real. Something that actually belongs where it sits.

That was the brief for this one.

My client wanted warmth and authenticity without giving up clean, intentional living. They weren't interested in a space that tried too hard to look rustic. They wanted a home that simply was.

We paired aged wood and tactile stone with a modern foundation of clean lines and open flow, keeping everything edited so the natural materials could do the heavy lifting. Nothing forced, nothing fussy. Just honest materials in a space designed to let you exhale the moment you walk in from the cold.

The result is a mountain retreat that feels like it was always there. Warm, grounded, and completely at home in its surroundings.
